Jefferson Parish (Metairie, Marrero, Gretna) dumps, transfer stations & drop-off sites
Checked Oct 23, 2026 Official source: Jefferson Parish Department of Environmental Affairs
Jefferson Parish runs free self-service trash drop-off sites in Metairie, Marrero and Jean Lafitte, shares the City of Gretna's Burmaster Street site, and lets residents bring two free loads a day to the parish landfill in Waggaman. Metairie and Marrero also take tires, motor oil, batteries and electronics.
Who can use them Parish drop-off sites are free for residents of unincorporated Jefferson Parish and the Town of Jean Lafitte who receive parish curbside collection. You'll be asked for a driver's license or water bill. Residents of Kenner, Gretna, Westwego, Harahan and Grand Isle pay the municipal fee and use the containers marked for municipal loads.
